ALYS BEACH

Alys Beach, Florida, located on the gulf of Mexico’s emerald coast, know for its captivating white masonry architecture. Taking elements of inspiration from Antigua, Guatemala, with Mediterranean, Creole, and Moorish detailing, the architecture of Alys Beach is largely based on that of Bermuda. Perhaps the towns most iconic architectural features are the butteries, which stand on either side of the east and west entrances, and celebrate Bermuda’s early minaret-shaped structures designed for the natural refrigeration of butter, dairy, and other perishables.

Our collaboration with Alys Beach was focused on producing a candle that symbolized the idyllic beach community, and the iconic butteries at the entrances of the community were the perfect subject to model a candle after.
