In 2020, founder Derrick Reaves visited Rosemary and Alys Beach along Florida's Gulf Coast. Inspired by the area's architectural beauty, he conceived the idea for Ryves:
Architectural concrete candle vessels representing stunning architecture from destinations, paired with scents from each location.
With a degree in engineering and a love for architecture and product design, Derrick quickly developed a prototype. From sketches to research and development, he brought the brand to life, starting with inspirations from Africa, Greece, France, and England, reflecting his love of history and family roots.
The brand name, Ryves, pays homage to a centuries old spelling of his family name. Ryves continues to launch new designs to keep customers inspired. Partnering with notable figures like Jeffery Dungan and Alys Beach, Ryves creates concrete vessels that share beauty and stories, both globally and personally. Our mission is to create candles that evoke memories and aspirations tied to extraordinary destinations worldwide.
